The work of art is the point of contact where the viewer meets my inner world. My work is the result of a synthesis of the collected world around me. This includes my love of abstraction and how I use and reuse its gestures and forms in an effort to make something my own. The sources for the making include my own experiences, as what I am looking or feeling always ends up in the work, despite their formal appearance. My interest in the sign, or signifier as a communicative device has a strong impact on the surface and the form or shape of the artwork. The best of my work allows me to concentrate on the weight or tone of the piece.
